From the skies to the ‘I do’s’ - How I became a wedding planner and coordinator.

If someone had told me years ago that I’d one day be helping couples plan the most important day of their lives, I might have smiled politely and boarded my next flight. For 16 years, I lived life at 35,000 feet, working as an air hostess and travelling the world. It was a career full of adventure, elegance, and service—where precision, presentation, and people were everything. And in many ways, it was the perfect foundation for what I do now.

My role in first and business class taught me the art of detail. From ensuring each guest felt looked after to managing multiple needs with calm professionalism, I learned how to deliver a seamless, luxury experience—skills I now bring to every wedding I coordinate.

But the transition from the skies to weddings wasn’t just about a change in career; it was also deeply personal.

I’ve been married twice and planned both of my weddings myself. I know what it’s like to want the day to reflect who you are, to juggle logistics and emotions, to make countless decisions and hope it all comes together perfectly. Planning my own weddings showed me just how powerful it is when everything aligns—the atmosphere, the people, the little moments that make the big memories. That experience sparked something in me: a desire to help others feel that same joy, without the stress.

So, I retrained. I studied floristry to expand my creative skills and bring beauty to the table—literally. I immersed myself in the world of styling, logistics, and timelines. And in 2013, Take a Pew was born.

Today, I help couples create weddings that feel effortlessly elegant and deeply personal. I offer full planning, on-the-day coordination, venue dressing, floristry, and vintage china hire—services that combine my love of design with my passion for creating calm, joyful celebrations. Every couple is unique, and I pride myself on helping their story come to life in a way that feels natural, heartfelt, and true to them.

Looking back, my career path might seem unexpected—but for me, it feels like the most natural destination I could have arrived at. I’ve always loved people. I’ve always believed in meaningful service. And I’ve always known the value of moments that take your breath away.

If you're planning your wedding and looking for someone to walk beside you on that journey, I’d be honoured to help.
